Kubota announced two new L02 models for its line of Standard L Series compact tractors at the 2022 National Farm Machinery Show.

The new L3302 and L3902 tractors include new comfort features, a fresh design, and independent PTO available on HST models.

“The upgrades on our new L02 compact tractors were strategic and universal to the line – we added comfort and styling features while keeping affordability top-of-mind,” says Beau Woodbury, Kubota’s compact tractor product manager. “With the new L3302 and L3902 we are officially introducing the next generation of our popular Standard L Series line.”

Beau says this tractor is for first-time buyers, residential property owners with around 5 to 20 acres, or hobby farmers — best for overall maintenance of their property.

The new L3302 offers 33 hp. while the slightly larger L3902 has 37.5 hp. Both models are available with either a gear drive or hydrostatic (HST) transmission.

Models equipped with the gear drive transmission have eight forward and eight reverse speeds. Models with the HST transmission can be operated forward and in reverse by pressing down on the pedal. One of the crowning features to these new models is the optional independent PTO switch on the HST models replacing the clutch, for simpler operation.

“This lends itself really well to first-time tractor buyers,” says Woodbury. “The HST is the easiest to use for first-time tractor buyers with the independent PTO. It’s just an overall easy tractor to get into and operate if you’re not super familiar with them.”

Thanks to the removal of the clutch, Kubota was able to make space for turning brakes, allowing operators to independently brake for a tighter turn-radius.

The new tractors are equipped with a Common-Rail System, electronic controlled fuel injection, designed to reduce noise and vibration.

Service intervals on the L02 models are the same from previous models, but Kubota has altered some features to make it easier for owners doing their own maintenance. Oil and transmission hydraulic fluid fill locations are color coded, and each is easily accessible on the side of the tractor.

Kubota updated not only function, but form as well on the new L02 series tractors, creating a different look from their predecessors. The seat itself may look familiar, but it’s built with upgraded suspension and optional arm rests for a more comfortable ride.

The bonnet on the tractor has added flares for a modern, sleeker look. Standard LED headlights, side work lights and a rubber floor mat round out the new design features.

The new LA526 front loader is the standard loader available on both the L3302 and L3309. Overall capacity is similar to previous models, with a maximum lift capacity of 1,144 pounds. Instead of increased capacity, Kubota focused on ease of use for this iteration. The loader valve is designed for simultaneous boom and bucket operation. Matched with the deeper, curved bucket, the tractor and loader combo is designed for easier maneuverability and transport.

“If you were transporting some trees or bushes, you can actually get it farther back into the bucket,” says Woodbury. “With the prior bucket, you wouldn’t have been able to stand fully back into it, so it’s got stability.”

For further ease of use, the front loader can be removed from the tractor without tools, and it has predrilled holes for a bolt-on cutting edge.

The new tractors will be available at dealerships starting spring 2022. The base L3302 starts around $21,500 and the base L3902 starts around $22,800. The HST transmission and loader options are available for extra. For more information, talk to your local dealer or visit KubotaUSA.com.
